*Winter opening:
On days with deep snow and ice, please telephone us
before starting out on your journey to avoid disappointment
(01540 651270).
Dog owners –
your dog must either be left in the free kennels at
the entrance gate or remain in your car for the duration
of your visit. Free kennels
and an exercise area are situated outside the exit gate,
We would prefer that you either used the free kennels,
or reconsider the idea of bringing your dog to the park
as dogs must remain in your car for the duration of
your visit.
Warning:
leaving your dog in your vehicle during hot weather
can cause extreme suffering and even death. Please
be aware that dogs can die if left in a car even on
a warm day. In a vehicle, the heat from the
sun is intensified through the glass. Your dog will
pant to try to cool down, which can lead to severe dehydration
and hyperventilation.
Opening a window or leaving a bowl of water is not enough,
so please, when possible, leave your dog at home and
make adequate arrangements for feeding and exercise
needs. Causing an animal unnecessary suffering is an
offence which can result in a fine and even a ban from
owning animals.
If you are aware of an animal in distress, please call
the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
